Wash the AI watermark out of your document.

Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini now hide an invisible statistical watermark in the words they write, plus metadata in the file itself. DocWash strips the file clean and rewrites the wording so the pattern breaks. It does not use another AI to do it, so it does not swap one watermark for a new one.

What DocWash removes

Layer 1: File metadata

DOCX and PDF files carry creator data, edit history and, for AI tools, signed C2PA provenance. Your clean file is built fresh, so none of it carries over.

Layer 2: Invisible characters

Zero-width spaces and other hidden Unicode characters ride along when text is copied. DocWash scans for them and strips every one, and fixes lookalike foreign letters hidden inside English words.

Layer 3: The statistical watermark

The hard layer. It lives in word choice itself, so deleting characters does nothing. DocWash rewrites the wording with deterministic dictionary lookups, changing the word patterns a detector measures. Published research shows changing about a quarter of the words collapses detection, and DocWash targets well past that.

Why no AI rewrite?

Most humanizer tools rewrite your text with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. If that model watermarks its output, you have traded one mark for another. DocWash uses pure dictionary lookups with no language model sampling, the one method that cannot embed a new watermark. That is also why your document never leaves your device.

Honest limits

No one outside the AI companies can run their official detectors, they are private. So no tool, including this one, can guarantee a result against a specific detector. What can be measured is shown to you above: how many invisible characters were removed and what share of the original word patterns are gone. Short documents under about 200 words carry very little watermark signal in the first place.
